With so much scary talk going around about PPC (pay-per-click) advertising it is not surprising.

All the talk about how PPC does not work any more, how it cost so much that you can not make a profit, how the search engines (ie: Google, Yahoo, MSN) will slaps your ads with a poor quality score, (costing you more for your ads) or that they will ban your ads, leaving you completely out in the cold.

Well the truth is if you do not know what you are doing, you can spend a fortune on PPC, get sent to the back pages where no one will see your ads or even get your ads banned.

The search engines have certain requirements that need to be followed in order to achieve a good "quality" score for you ads. These requirements are based on the search engines wanting to provide their customers (the people doing the searching) with the best and most relevant information for the terms they are searching for.

When you set up an ad campaign properly, using the requirements set forth by the search engines you will receive a good ad score. This score will in turn, decrease your cost per click, get your ad placed higher in the search and remove the risk of having your ads banned.

PPC advertising is not as bad or as difficult to do as you may be lead to believe. It does require some effort on your part, but the rewards of a well planned ad campaign can be tremendous.

There are many ways to get traffic to you site, but when you add up all the time and effort you spend trying to get traffic from Article Writing and submission, Blogging, Myspace, Facebook, and all the other "free ways" to get traffic, you spent more time and money and it takes a lot longer to see results.

With PPC you can jump start you business and start driving traffic within minutes of setting up an ad campaign. You can then test your market quickly to see if it will make you money and then use the free traffic for long term profits

Of course you can always play around learning PPC yourself, with the possibility you get lucky and start making money. But to avoid the many pit falls and save your self a lot of stress, aggravation and money, I would highly suggest finding someone that knows all the ins and outs of the business.

I was very hesitant to get into PPC when I first entered the Internet Marketing arena, for the fear of loosing my shirt, that was until I found a mentor in Amit Metha and Anik Singal the creators of PPC Classroom 2.0.

Now that I know the ins and outs of PPC it is my first avenue for getting traffic to every new site that I set up, without the worry that I will loose a fortune.
